GENESSA -- WEBRING MEMBERSHIP!![]() First of all, do GENESSA a favor and click on the badge above to reach WebRing to join; then do yourself a favor and join as a Premium (2.0) member. WebRing has two levels of membership: 1.0, or free, membership and 2.0, or premium, membership. As you may have guessed, premium membership is not free. It is, however, inexpensive at $36 a year/$3 a month. You can fund a 2.0 membership with as little as three dollars in your balance (although once it drops to #2.99 you will get reminders to fund your account), as the fee is calculated, and taken, daily. You can, of course, pay all at once, with PayPal or a credit card.
NOTE: The above brings you to PayPal, in case you don't have an account yet. If you wish to upgrade your membership or fund your WebRing account, you need to click on the "Add credit" or "Want 2.0?" links on your account page. (If you are already a 2.0 member you will not see the "Want 2.0?" link.)
Who Doesn't Need 2.0? If you are only going to join a few WebRings and not otherwise be active (for example, managing rings) and if you do not wish to show a full stack of NavBars on your page (which uses up WebRing's bandwidth) but are content to use the single NavBar option, you may not need 2.0. You are not going to earn enough activity points to make doubling them meaningful; you will not need a representative to answer your questions (you can use the support system).
Benefits of 2.0 Premium members earn twice the activity points of free members for the same activities. If you are active, you will want to be rewarded in this way. Premium members earn more money for inviting others to join WebRing, and premium managers also earn more money for inviting members to the WebRings they manage. (We do not believe premium managers earn more for featuring sites in their rings than free managers do, but we could be wrong. We do know that with enough paying featurees, you need dip into your bank account rarely if at all to maintain a 2.0 membership.) If you are managing rings responsibly and need advice about this; if you have multiple technical problems; if when you need help you need it rather quickly -- you should be a premium member and take advantage of the fact that you have your own rep and do not have to wait as long as those who go through the support system. If you have a lot of memberships, change your site often and thus log in frequently to change URLS or grab new code, you are earning enough activity points to make doubling them significant. If you log in frequently just to chat in the Shoutbox, then even though you do not get a lot of points for chatting, you do get a few just for logging in. If you also browse WebRings and member websites (through the rings) you will earn points. This makes doubling those points worth doing. In short, if you hang out at WebRing at all, 2.0 membership may be right for you! BACK TO WEBRINGS MANAGED BY GENESSA![]() ![]() |
