GENESSA -- GIFTS! Lady G and Lionheart love to get one another gifts. Lady G favors online shopping, while Lionheart likes to pick up things he sees in his wanderings. Both ways work, but GENESSA will, on these pages, direct you toward some righteous online shopping. But first, a word about how to choose a gift. Lady G uses two methods. One is the spontaneous, oh wouldn't so 'n so like that method, in which one sees something one hadn't expected to see and is immediately reminded of someone who would really appreciate that something. (The older one gets, the more likely it is the intended recipient is no longer around; Lady G is always spotting something one of her late parents, or her late best friend, would have enjoyed.) The other is to listen carefully to what the would-be giftee craves, and go find it. The more she relies on online shopping, the more Lady G uses the latter method. Lady G loves to shower Lionheart with gifts! He used to complain. He knows better now. Lionheart has been known to see things he thinks are cool and pick them up, saving them to give to Lady G on some appropriate occasion. Unfortunately, although he and Lady G agree on many things, what makes a good gift, or even what is an attractive toy or article of clothing, is not always among those agreed-upon things. Hence he has gotten Lady G bedroom slippers (knowing she eschews them) and positively kitschey bits of home decor (Lady G is peculiar as well as choosy). Sometimes there have been spats. However, Lionheart seems to have learned his lesson, and is listening (albeit not hearing, in a literal sense, being severely hearing-impaired) much better these days. Chanukah 2008 and Valentine's Day 2009 were, in terms of gift-giving, among his greatest successes. Lady G, while not greedy, hopes he doesn't backslide.
