DATING AND SOCIAL CLUBS
GENESSA's Lady G, lonely, tried placing a personal advertisement in a venue for such outcries, long before she met Lionheart (through other means). There was no widespread, public internet back then.
Lady G received two responses to which she, herself, responded. One gentleman showed up to the arranged date completely drunk, and the other was fabulously compatible with Lady G, sweet, intelligent, interesting and interested, too, in Lady G -- but nonetheless soon decided to return to his (according to him) incompatible and bad-news ex-girlfriend. Oh well.
Some decades later, in another part of the universe, Lady G tried the electronic version and was matched with a perfectly kind, thoughtful gentleman... who had neglected to mention, until after dinner (at least it was only dinner) that he was married. If Lady G had a penny for every time she heard "... but we have an arrangement," she could buy a stick of gum. A big stick of gum.
This is not to put you off matchmaking services (not how Lady G went about it anyway). First of all, the internet does make it easy for people to be anonymous initially, but so did love letters, back in the day. Secondly, good people are good online and off, and bad people are bad wherever they find themselves. The internet is just a medium... a great, big medium. (It isn't code the worldWIDE web for nothing!) You know the risks and you also know the potential. Many people form lasting, loving relationships this way. We hope you find exactly what you want and need, and have the utmost pleasure therefrom. We just want you to be careful and use common sense.
WARNING: GENESSA does not discriminate on the basis of age, affectional or sexual preference, economic situation, race (not that there is any such thing), occupation, nationality, fame, social class, fashion sense, allergy, pet ownership, disability or how, where or why people seek companionship. Some of the banners below are specific to certain ethnic, religious, age or other groups; others are more general. If you think any of the banners below, which link to sites GENESSA has reason to believe are reputable, are scams, we want to hear about it so we can disassociate ourselves from them. However, if you are offended by any of them because of what they represent, we advise you as gently as we can that it's really none of your business. Love is extremely hard to find these days. If consenting adults manage to find it, somehow, let them be happy!
