The mystical meaning in the Old Commandment
A secret commandment that was mentioned in the bible, yet it can't be found. ....Uncover the hidden meaning behind this commandment

1 John
"2:7  Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
2:8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.."

What is the old commandment, and why is it so mystical? Where in the bible that the old commandment would be located?

For Christians, a commandment is a wish that God prefer human to fulfill, but what is the Old commandment that St. John mentioned above? (This old commandment should not be confused with the New Commandment, which is to love one another, listed right after it. )

We also know that the Old commandment would not be one of the Ten Commandments because these commandments were from Moses time, which is not in the beginning.

" I write no new commandment but an old commandment...which you had from the beginning..."

The earliest story related to mankind from the beginning of time is the story of the garden of Eden, where no direct commandment can be found except in Genesis 2:16, 17     "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying,"of every tree of the garden you may freely eat, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.""

However, this commandment was already broken, therefore, it cannot be applied. The only thing left that can be view as a commandment is more like a comment: Then the Lord God said, "behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever" Genesis 3:22

"So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life." Genesis 3:24

In the story of the garden of Eden, since the Old commandment cannot be found directly, it therefore must be implied.  Could it  be one of the following???

         1.   To find what is the tree of Life and eat of it. Could "the tree of Life" means Meditation, and its fruit means "enlightenment", which who reach this stage shall live forever?

         2.   To become like before. To restore ourselves to the original state before committed the original sin. That is to become like children, to purify our hearts, to disuse the knowledge of good and evil.

In conclusion, the mystic meaning of this old commandment is that God did not prohibit man from obtain the tree of Life (thou shall not..), but to make it so hard to find as a challenge, and a repay for man's sin before he can eat of  this tree and live forever...
